Lux ( $l x$ ) is the unit of illuminance or luminous flux ([[Lumen]]) per unit area.

It is equal to 1 [[Lumen]] per square metre.

It measures the quantity of light that hits a specific surface. In other words, it measures the amount of light that hits a specific area.
